They are nice, I have two customized ones, but, they do not compare to the smallring Brno 21/22 rifles.

OK, I'm a dummy. I always thought the letters CZ inside the circle to the right of "VIRGINIA" meant Ceska Zbrojovka. I have never seen one that literally had "Zastava Yugoslavia" marked on it, until today. All the ones I've owned and seen said "Manchester England." But today I googled up this picture of one marked Zastava. The circle to the right still looks like it says CZ inside to me, the dummy. Mausers give me a headache.

That looks like a Kragujevak copy of the Belgian FN Supreme action to me and the Brnos are quite different in both interior and exterior design/details.

The Brnos DO differ in some details and the older roundtops are somewhat different and, IMO, perhaps a bit less desirable than the "flattops" made later. However, they represent the pinnacle of production bolt action sporting rifle manufacture and should be treasured as such.

My absolute "dream rifles" would be a factory original, stone mint, pair of a ZG-74 with the MC comb stock in 9.3x64B and a late 22H "roundbolt" factory chambered in 7x64B, both with the 23.6mm barrels. I would prefer to find, buy and use these to being given a Purdey. I guess I must be a true "riflelooney".

Barrel band front sling swivel, one standing rear sight sleeved to barrel. Holds five down and one in the chamber.

This is a classic big game rifle if I have ever seen one!

Terry,

What is that lovely little beastie chambered in? I like the slim, trim lines!

Terry,
Isn't that your .270 with stock copied after the Brno 21H?

Yes, I used an old BRNO 21H stock for a pattern. The Husky was grafted in and it was duplicated. I even used the buttplate off the original stock. laugh

Bluefish, it's a .270WIN. The barrel is a 22" PacNor featherweight.

Thanks, Terry. I have two sticks of walnut that look nearly exactly like the one above. Nice taste!

Now, if I can just decide what to make this LH Zastava into...

7X57 or 9.3X62 are great choices cool A man could circle the globe with those two.

I just acquired a super nice complete Chilean 1912 action made by Waffenfabrik Steyr, Austria. It's gonna be a 7x57 very similar to the one Phil posted.

i've been eyeing a 1912 steyr myself. its so clean i'd almost feel bad about buying it for a project gun. been thinking about all the cool/expensive stuff to do to it. 280, 30-06, 35 whelen, or maybe the 9.3x62.
