I really don't care if Romney can relate to the common man or not. As long as he knows how to get the government off the backs of businesses so they can hire more common men and gets the U.S. on a sound energy path to bring down gas prices and such, then I don't care if he uses gold bird shot when he hunts. BTW, gold shot is 30% more dense than lead, easy on barrels, safe if you eat it, environmentally safe, and people will clean your game for nothing. smirk

Pull your thong out. I meant what I said. If he wants to beat Obama (and I believe he will be our candidate), he better learn a little about the Americans who were'nt born millionaires.

The whole "Romney is out of touch with the average person" charge is an invention of the liberal MSM. I'm not falling for it. Romney knows common folks need jobs, he's hired many of them. We elected a "fishing buddy" type some years ago by the name of Carter and we all know how that turned out.

Remind me again: Why is Governor Palins suggestion of a contested convention a bad idea?

RmoneyTone deaf or brain dead?

No.12 For holding a 1,200-person speech in a near-empty 65,000-seat football stadium.

The Latest Romneyism: I Dont Follow NASCAR, but I Have Friends Who Own NASCAR Teams

No 11. Asked by the AP reporter if he follows NASCAR, Romney responded, Not as closely as some of the most ardent fans. But I have some great friends who are NASCAR team owners.

No. 10 saying his wife Ann drives a couple of Cadillacs.

No. 9 "I'm in this race because I care about Americans. I'm not concerned about the very poor. We have a safety net there. If it needs repair, I'll fix it,"

No 8. Offering to bet Texas Gov. Perry $10,000.

No. 7 Telling his lawn service, Im running for office, for Petes sake I cant have illegals.

No. 6 Corporations are people, my friend!

No 5. I should tell my story. Im also unemployed.

No 4. Obama and his one of the biggest peacetime spending binges in American history.

No.3 We don't want to just pull up stakes and get out of town after the enormous output we've just made for the region, Romney said of Pakistan. Look at Indonesia in the '60s. We helped them move toward modernity. We need to help bring Pakistan into the 21st century, or the 20th, for that matter.

No 2. We're going to hang him, uh, so to speak, metaphorically, with, uh, with, uh you have to be careful these days, I've learned that with an Obama Misery Index

No 1. April 3, 2007, he said this: "I purchased a gun when I was a young man. I've been a hunter pretty much all my life." Then two days later, he clarified: "I'm not a big-game hunter. I've made that very clear. I've always been a rodent and rabbit hunter. Small varmints, if you will. I began when I was 15 or so and I have hunted those kinds of varmints since then. More than two times."

No. 1 is my personal favorite.

The Republican establishment is all for him, and the libs too. I was listening to a Detroit station, 760, and he was giving a speech. Just as he started getting into the meat of his ideas, the first 100 days, all of a sudden its all commercials, like 4 of them in a row. Then when they came back it was the announcer talking over him. Coincidence? I don't think so. No such thing as they were broadcasting Mitt.

The one thing they don't want is anyone that sounds anything like Reagan. They praise Reagan, and all say they are like him, but they hated him.

OK, how many of you "Common Folks" aka "Middle Class" work for poor men?

It takes a man of wealth to generate wealth for the poor downtrodden slobs that work for his filthy nasty badass CORPORATION.

From childhood I always wanted to be a business owner and could never understand the raw hatred for the wealthy. Why would anyone not want to be successful and wealthy?

Now that I own a small business I see everyday the benefits that our business provides to the employees. More than that I see the great benefits the employees return to the company. There are no more valuable assets than good employees and no better use of corporate funds than to well compensate those employees.

I have a difficult time understanding what I can only describe as wealth envy on this supposedly Conservative forum. I'm a card carrying Capitalist and not afraid to admit it. Many here seem to be closet Socialists.

Man of the People.

Romneys wealth has nothing to do with his tone deafness.

What does "tone deafness" have to do with the price of butter in Nebraska? "Tone deaf" is another overworked cliche, much like the many used by your girl Perky.

PS Tell "Sarah" 2012 is here already. Maybe she didn't get the word up there in freeze over country.

I have nothing against the wealthy. I just don't like to see someone try to relate to a voter that works 50 hours a week or is out of work, when they have been handed a bank account full of millions since day 1.

I'm all for the man who starts with little or nothing and makes his fortune. To me he understands what it is like to be down in the valley and also up on the mountain top. I guess I have more respect for people like that. Especially if they earned their money honestly.

Just don't try to tell me that you understand what it's like to be unemployed, have bills and a family to support when you have a bank account worth millions.

There is a difference. I reckon to sum it all up, I just don't like people trying to act like something they are not.

Hitting him with the money stick for being successful and making money is a liberal class-warfare tactic.

First it means the primary process failed, so it will devolve into backroom deals where Palin hopes she can have more influence, and thus, stay in the limelight longer so she can cash in on another book or two.

As for number 12 to 1, who cares? Like I said on another thread I don't care if Romney hunts with gold shot. It has many advantages such as being 30% denser than lead, it's safe to eat if you miss a pellet cleaning game, it's environmentally safe, and people volunteer to clean your game for you for free. The fact that the average guy can afford $2,000 per shell is irrelevant to the kind of guy we need to run the nation. Remember the good old fishing buddy named Carter? Give me Romney any day.

An important part you forgot to mention is that Romney didn't inherit his money, he made it on his own. If you want to argue that he had a big advantage coming from a wealthy family you may have a point, but it's one Democrats make; are you a Democrat?

Here's what's really worrying many of the Libertarian types. If Romney wins and cuts spending, reduces taxes, shrinks the size of government, gives states more rights, and balances or even reduces the budget deficient it will undercut their case and influence within the Republican party. If they were actually worried about the country we wouldn't be hearing that Obama might be better than Romney form some of the Libertarian types on 24hr.

As I understand it Romney donated most of his inherited wealth to a Mormon university in Utah.

The fortune he now commands was made at Bain Capital.

All modern presidential candidates and Presidents have been wealthy men. If one does not have the brains to accumulate wealth one does not have the brains to be President.

You speak from experience as being the boss of a successful small business. Many others on 24hr speak only from working for others and perhaps their dislike for bosses in general is why they feel the way they do about Romney.

Yes successful people have more than one car and the fact that Romney has multiple Cadillacs is good news. If I need a lawyer or a doctor I seek out the ones who are successful at what they do, because I feel they are more likely to be successful in my case. I expect you do the same.

Well said.

However I am no longer "Boss". My son has taken over the day to day operation of the business as CEO. I remain as Publisher and go in every once in a while and ask stupid questions and am generally ignored. Leaves more time for hunting and shooting.

If by some miracle Romney beats obama and does any of those things (Another miracle), it will be precisely because he/you/they felt enough pressure and push back from those who simply want the things you listed and are tired of being lied to. This, quite simply, is what the folks you guys like to paint as liberterians/anarchists/bots/Teabaggers or whatever RINO talking point you want to insert, actually want. Ignore the crystal clear lesson of 2010 & continue your RINO mantra, obama is counting on you.

Smaller, less obtrusive government is not the anarchy and chaos you like to portray & as you alienate more from the terribly wounded, out of touch GOP you just may get a chance to see what it really is. If your exclusive, elitist positions put obama back in, again, his lame duck agenda will create pain like we have not seen in a very, very long time. We ain't seen nothin' yet.
