In reloading the .222 I see that both powders are listed. I was wondering if the powder chart listed 20grs. Are both powders consent. I guess what I am asking would I be safe in useing the load listed for both powders. I hope my question is understandly. Thanks I need some imput.

No, the data on these two powders is not interchangeable. Use this Hodgen reloading guide. http://data.hodgdon.com/main_menu.asp

I've load tons of both over the years, in a lot of different cartridges...
IMRs seem a hair faster... but if one doesn't interchange max loads, you are safe with either.....
just work up, as always..

"IMR" 4198 is now made in Australia, at least much of the time. I don't claim that means the data is interchangeable, because it doesn't. Still, I struggle to see Thales making 2 entirely different, but dramatically similar, powders for Hodgy...

H is made in OZ... IMR is made by Canucks, in Canada, eh? Thats correct. IMR4198 has never been made in Oz H4198 was made to duplicate the burning rate of IMR4198

IMR4198 has never been made in Oz H4198 was made to duplicate the burning rate of IMR4198 You are both mistaken, unfortunately. IMR-4198 _used_ to be exclusively a General Dynamics Canada powder. That is no longer the case. Last I or anyone I know inquired, Hodgy acknowledged the change in sourcing to Thales Australia, but IIRC they suggested they might source it from either place(?). Several hundred new-arrival pounds of IMR-4198 I've seen in multiple states over the past ~2 years have all said "Made in Australia." I have not personally seen any "Made in Canada" IMR-4198 since that ~2 years ago, but again, I was only looking at newly-arrived pounds. Hodgy might be buying it in an either-or sourcing scheme; I don't know.

I don't care where it is made as long as they don't change the formula and it is still as accurate for my reduced loads...
I burn a lot of it..

I can't imagine any powder shooting better in my my Sako 222 than 18.5 grains of 4198. Never saw a need to change that one in the 40 years I have used that recipe.
