Few things funnier than a Boolit Company trying to schlep "Custom" Rifles, that are twisted too slow to shoot their own boolits.

Only Nosler and their "keen insight",would see fit to toss 1-12" 223's,14" 22-250's and 10" 243's out their door.

Cracks me the [bleep] up!

Seems like lots of manufacturers do that, but its double funny that the company makes a rifle that isn't twisted for their own bullet.

Someday, they and the other makers will catch on. Or, not.

I build more 14 twist 222 Rem., 223 Rem., 22-250 Rem, than any other twist. 7 twist 223 rifles occasionally. 14 twist 6MM and 8 twist 6MM.

What I really don't understand, is some companies get on board with the fast twist for the .223, but not the 22-250? So .223 shooters shoot heavies, but 250 shooters do not?

And when they do get on board with the faster twist, they spin them so they will baaarely spin the longer pills. So even though you finally have companies putting out fast twist barrels, it's still a crap shoot on whether you need to rebarrel or not...

Now, somebody throw me a tissue.

I'd pay the asking price for one of those Nosler custom rifles......if I won it at a raffle.

Kinda wondered that myself Travis....bottom line from these companies is to produce what sells....the looser twists have been working for decades for
most consumers...so they cater to the masses and not the loonies...
Another line of reasoning in the marketing is that Americans are all-consumed by speed...14" twists will shoot the fast 50 grainers really good.... wink

Yeah, I understand tradition can a be maux faux to overcome. But then they overcome it and go half-azz. Let's make it fast twist, but not fast twist enough... Same with AR's. Why are companies so committed to that half-azz 1-9"?

The problem with that line of thought is the masses wouldn't know the difference anyway, but the loonies would.

Nosler in their infinite "wisdom",twists their 7-08's 9.5" and their 280AI's 9". Their 308Win's 12",'06,Whizzum and Winnie 10". So it isn't like there isn't some deep "thinking",by their shoot nothing but their mouths Bean Counters. Pretty [bleep] funny.

You'd have to build a C/M Howa in a B&C stock and ask $2k for it,to top that humor.

Ooops!

'Ed,

Tasco sells alotta scopes,Cough Silencers fly offa the shelves and Obama got elected(handily)...ALL thanks to Joe Average.

Pardon my knowing better, across the course.

Pun intended.

'we,

Reserve twist abounds in numerous bore sizes,so there's zero rhyme or reason...but it do assuredly add to the inherent humor, that the ball is so glaringly dropped and with such purpose.

Though in fairness, who in the bidness knows less about shooting good boolits than Nosler?!?

'flave,

9" in anything that accepts M-16 mags,do not give me heartburn, because that twist rate will handle everything that'll reliably magfeed in regards to COAL constraints...assuming a 16" spout or better. Though I of course got 'em in 1-7" and 8" as well as the more pedestrian rates.

What would be nice to see is S/S mags geared towards accepting longer COAL's,so the 75A-Max could reliably magfeed with ogives above the case mouth in Gassers.

Make mine 1-8" there.

Joan,

The only thing you shoot is your [bleep] Imagination. As an aside,it needs bore sighted too and BADLY.

Bless your heart.

math',

The masses ain't rebarreling 1-10" '06's to 1-17".

The oblivious as you cite, would remain so and the gents with a clue would rock on.

Win/win.

One of these days a production rifle manufacturer will see the light and start producing rifles for the higher BC bullets.

Bubba don't need fast twists to spin wall mart cor-lokts..

It is funny that a company tries to pass off high-end customs with off the shelf production rifle qualities. And they deserve any derision they receive..
