I am looking at buying another S&W 77A pump gun, but the seals need to be replaced and the only shop that seems to work on those old S&Ws is Mac1. If you've used Mac1, what do you think?

Tim's built me 3 of his Steroid 392 Benji's over the years and has resealed 2 of my Crosman's
and will be getting another 2 Crosman's for reseals also. Even though I can reseal my
guns myself, with the seals Tim uses, his guns hold for a long time, much longer than the factory
ones. Tim is the 3rd generation to run Mac1 which was started by his grandfather Les. So as far as
letting Tim work on my guns, yeah, he know's his $hit and uses quality parts. I've been a customer of his for 8 years now.

Just take his personality with a HUGE grain of salt. He can be a bit "brittle" at times on the telephone. Some days he is great other times he can be a real prick.

I will say this-

His familly's business has been working on Crosmans since before WWII, and as X said, he knows his stuff about them.

That is what I had heard about Tim. Also to double the estimated time necessary to do the work.

I picked up the S&W 77A today and other than the blown seals and a couple of scope mount scratches, the wood is 100% and the metal is 98%. $80 out the door, plus another $100 +/-, will work.

Yes, Tim can be crusty at times, but if you want your gun done right with zero problems, and can wait for turn around,
he's the man. My last reseal job took over a month, but when it came back it shot with a bit more power and is still holding
Co2. Just pray you catch him in a good mood when you call, and don't pester him about turn around time, then you'll be good.
