My brother has a T3 lite in 22-250. It misfired on him. He don't take care of guns for chit. Shoots them until they stop and then gives them to me to fix. I figured it was just going to be a gummy bolt. I took the bolt apart.
I got the whole firing pin spring assemble. The firing pin had some gouges in it running front to back. The spring has a steel collar on the front end. I figure there is a burr or two on that collar. I have polished the firing pin. Nice and smooth now I am sure that along with the good cleaning will help. But I would still like to look at the collar on the spring. But I cannot figure out how to remove the spring from the firing pin.
As I have done my share of damage when I try to figure things out in the past, I always check the availability of parts and the price before I tackle the project. After seeing that the firing pin assembly is 125 bucks I decided to not try and figure things out on my own.
For now I am going to leave it alone and check it after some shooting to see if the gouges return. Still would like to know if the firing pin spring can be removed and how. Thanks.

Looked it over some more and realized that the gouges were from assemble. The spring does not travel as far as I thought it did. There must be some type of clip in the collar on the front of the screw. Figure it is a C clip of some sort and the the two ends made the gouges. Cannot tell if the gouges would of been able to make contact with the inside of the bolt body or not. Either way I a feel better that it is polished and clean.
