went to the Marine Corps Birthday Ball last night by a personal invite (I'm Army). Boy what a party!! Some showed up in their dress blues, and really looked strack! Had a huge birthday cake, and a young Marine in his blues had the honor of cutting the cake. He made a three or four minute speach that was often interrupted with cheers. Told how the dress blues were never pressed and why. Then cut the cake with (your gonna love this) with a captured WWII Japanese sword!

Commanded USAF Reserve Civil Engineers Sqdn at McChord 2007-2011
Commanded 506 expeditionary Civil Eng Squadron at Kirkuk, Iraq
Lt Col - present Air Guard at Camp Murray, WA
Seen and met a ton of fantastic people. Loved every minute of it, even the frozen north, and the oven heat in Iraq. Learned a lot about me, and the quality of young men and women we're raising and I'm comfortable the Republic will endure in good hands.
Thanks to all the vets, and to all the folks who've trusted us with your sons and daughters, brothers and sisters, husbands and wives, and moms and dads.

USAF 1st Special Operations Wing 1975-1983
USAF 919th Special Operations Wing 1983-1985 1993-1994 were you with the guys flying the C130's and C121's that were painted flat black with enough bumps and blisters to make you think the plane needed a penecillen shot? Those guys were the ones that flew "Bright Light" and a couple others a few years prior. Wecome Home gary
