another Pre'64 followed me home a few days ago.
1951 in 270 in a custom stock with an old B&L 2.5-8 with adjustable mount.
I might put one of my extra Leupolds on it, but then I might not.
I might go over the stock and take some of the sharp edges off too, but then I might not do that either, it's a nice "period piece" as it is. I will however put a new butt pad on it..;)
I did however slide the scope ahead about 1-1/2" after I took the pics...

Model 70 sporter .270 wsm. I won it at a raffle two nights ago. Today I ordered the mounts and a Vx-3L 3.5-10x50mm leupold for it. Im very excited, I've wanted a model 70 for years! I wish it wasnt a sporter but hell, its a 70... I'll take it.

You wish it wasn't a Sporter? So I assume you wish it was a Featherweight correct? Have you asked the dealer they baught it from about trading it in on a Featherweight? Most baquets around here the dealer will let you trade it back in for what the club paid for it or a couple bucks less on what you really want. Even if it costs you $50 or $100 is it not worth it to get exactly what you want? Just MHO
