I am looking to buy an 1100 12 Ga for my son,he is older not a child. I came across an 11-87 Rem 28" barrel w/Mod choke tube. It is suppose to be LNIB. Don,t know much about them. Would this be a good choice for him for his 1st skeet gun?

The 11-87 is basically an updated, "new and improved" version of the 1100.
If you wanted an 1100, and found a good deal on an 11-87 instead, I'd grab it.
It will work fine for skeet, and a whole lot more.

The 11-87 works fine with different loads. Mine feeds safely with 7/8 oz. trap loads and also with heavy waterfowl loads. Quality seems to be good.

You'll need to buy a skeet choke but it should work fine.

I shoot em and i love em, have both 12 and 20. There a better "do all gun" than the 1100 simply because you can shoot 2 3/4 or 3 inchers.
