stillbeeman Campfire Regular S Joined: Aug 2009 Posts: 2,794 middle Tenn	I think a thumbhole stock is great for shooting off of a bench but just don't work on a BG rifle. It's not as quick. With a regular stock, you slide your thumb to the right, flip off the safety and slide your thumb back to the left and you're good to go. With the thumbhole you've got to take your thumb out of the hole, do the safety, and put it back. That takes more time which may or may not be important, and is awkward unless you practice extensively doing it. I tried one for a season and just couldn't get comfortable with it. Aim for the exit hole.

VonGruff Campfire Regular Joined: Feb 2009 Posts: 827 South Otago, New Zealand	I bought an XR100 with a TH lam stock as a walking varminter and after one season of cursing it for its arkward carry I made a standard stock from a light 1/4 sawn walnut blank and not only had a rifle that was 1 1/2 lb lighter and easier to carry but one that was easier to get onto target with as well. The fit and feel is great, no problems with safety or carrying them. To each his own!
