OK so I have 2 pretty good loads with these pills.

Accuracy is there. However, ES isn't. A little more than I would like to see.
I'm jumping these things a mile (.050) as recommended.

The target below represents this a.m.'s trigger yanking.

You can See the CCB shot then I adjusted the scope.

I shot the top group of 1 charge weight. @ 2900 fps.

Then the second group different charge weight and in my routine I tripped the second shot early.. (obvious) @ 2930 fps.

Then the third group of another charge weight and I dropped the 3rd shot just low about .3 of an inch ( not in pic but inline with the group. @ 2950 fps.

So what I am asking is those of your who shoot these pills and have found accuracy do you also find the the ES isn't very low?

I wonder if seeing a big ES could be due to the relief bands cut in the bullet?

Stick with load number one. Seems like you are yanking the trigger more consistently on that one. laugh If my rifle shoots like that all the time, I can live with a little ES. Tell us what your unacceptable ES is.

My RE17 load in the 300 WSM (66.5gr) has an SD of ~10 fps. It's a solid 3/4 MOA load and 1/2 MOA is very common. I'd say keep increasing the powder charge slightly. My .260 had unacceptable SDs with H4350 until I got closer and closer to max.

I worry more about SD than ES. The ES figures only become important at long range anyway.

What are you shooting? I'd shoot 2900 fps load again and if it produces the same as the first I might be good. Then I'd go back and shoot 1shot from a cold bore. If it lands within the same group...I would most certainly be calling it a day!

What are the ES numbers you are questioning for load 1?

I don't worry about the cold clean bore shot as much as I'd worry about the cold bore shot. I want the ability to poke to 500 so thats my issue with the ES.

I'd tend to agree but the bottom target and dropping the last shot was purely me. I had a hair lower es with the third load.

I was thinking same.

ES on the top group is 23

ES on the bottom group is 18
