I just left Cabelas after handling a stainless A7 in 308 win in a black with gray webbing fiberglass stock.
Does anyone know if this is a Bell & Carlson stock or HS ?
I liked the feel over the plastic/soft touch and was wondering if anyone knew?

If it is ...then I may get one for one of my Tikka's grin

Thanks

The regular stocks have always been hard plastic or soft touch rubber on the stainless A7's ....not the Bell & Carlson clone.
They also had a blued A7 with a tan and black wedded stock

I think when the time is right you guys will get your answer. I called Cabelas after I received a flyer showing the A7 in a B & C stock that WAS NOT A TECHOMATE version. SAKO has expanded the B & C stock on both long and short actions according to the salesman I spoke to at Cabelas. My guess it might either be a special deal, for Cabelas, or a new A7 upgrade. Asked about calibers and it included the the 308 family and the 30-06 family. I like the B & C stocks...some don't but it will sell some rifle in my opinion .

I'm pretty sure I'm right - I bought a 243 A7 from Cabelas last weekend so I'd have it for a donner rifle.

Now if I can just keep from shooting it !!!!

Here ya go - This is the normal soft touch stock on a A7 (not the B&C) Sorry about the oily finger prints

Thanks for the picture...the stock on the stainless 308 win that I handled was not that stock. I had a 30-06 A7 with that stock, only it was not the soft rubber touch.

I'm debating on ordering a Mcmillan Edge or just trying out the Bell & Carlson stock.......I know if I don't like the B&C several others may want it grin

I'll be in Cabela's tomorrow fondling the A7 Sako to see if I want the $237.35 stock verses the $538 stock + waiting period whistle

It was the $300 for 8oz of weight savings that did it for me. I think the BC's are about 2oz heavier. Since it already tips the scale at 7# scoped, the extra weight was negligible.

Plus a certain McMillan sucked up my stock fundage (but I aint bitchin)

official numbers on Monday.......

Maybe it's just me but it seems that over the years the B&C Medalist has had a little bit of a growth problem. That is to say that the circumference of the wrist seems to be growing ever so slightly (actually measures) sine I bought my first one a few years ago.

I've talked to the techs at B&C and they seem to be oblivious to the above even after sending photos with a tape wrapped around the wrist on three different stocks bought over a 3 year period.

Added: FWIW , Sako has expanded the A7 Tecomote. It appears as though they may have begun to trickle in.

yep - girth issue.

I bought a B&C once for my CZ 9.3x62 and ended up returning it to CZ.

I ended up buying one of the Sako A7's with the premium stock from Cabela's in .308. Liked the look and feel of it (and it's still not clear to me who makes it, but I didn't really care). Topped it with a Swarovski Z-5 and took this mule deer with it in New Mexico. It's become my favorite rifle.
