My favorite is the 140gr VLD Berger, limiting yourself to the ranges you speak of opens up the option's.....but still a great bullet.

Anything would shoot good in that rig, what with the stunning craftsmanship and love that went into painting that stock.... whistle

I was wondering if you had a chance to try them out yet. Hopefully it works just as well on game.

I would see my pursuits in that arena going towards the 127 LRX or 140gr Ballistic Tip.
Either would work well n

Have used Hornady, Speer, and Sierra bullets in the 140gr weight on deer in various 6.5s from Swede to Win mag and they all worked well. The Sierras leave a bit bigger hole, which tends to make me think it opens a little easier and/or wider than the others. All were pass-throughs at various angles and ranges, never a lack of penetration. Many were DRT depending on placement. Shoot for the offside shoulder and get out your knife.

the gun will be used for hunting deer, hogs, antelope, and a cow elk or two.

im leaning towards the 120 ttsx. what say you experts?

If in a short action with no lengthened mag box. I shot the 125 Nosler Partition. Pretty much mirrors the classic 270win/130 load.

Since about 1st of August, I've been developing loads for my 6.5x47 Lapua using the 130 VLD, 130 Accubond and 127 LRX, all in front of Varget. All three are very accurate in my rifle. It was almost a coin toss to decide but I want to really drop an elk or two and maybe a mulie with the 127 LRX this season. So, this morning I ran up the canyon behind my house to just over 7,200' and prone on Snipepods, from 818 yds, 10 deg down with a 3 mph 10pm wind smacked my 8" steel 2x and called it good.

Oh, and this was using data directly from the Leica 1600-B LRF. I then verified it against my Shooter ballistic program on my DROID cell phone and it was an exact match @ 18.3 MOA drop.

Alan, you can shoot any bullet, hit them in the eye and you get to dirty your knife wink Lol.

Dob - I used IMR4350 and H414 in my 129 loads in the 6.5-308 custom I had pre-260...

Kind of surprised the Sierra 130 does not have a higher bc, vs. an AB or Berger. Wonder how they react on game.

Based off my time with other Sierra HPBT bullets I'm fairly certain that the 130 HPBT will witch slap critters around fairly well... grin

I wish soooo very much Sierra would have given that 130 HPBT a higher bc as I won a 1/2 off $500 worth of Sierra bullets certificate at this years Utah State Sniper Shoot. My rifle shoots the 123 MK wonderfully but would rather have a 130 gr hunting bullet. My 'smith knows a guy who knows a guy in Wyoming who claims the 123 MK will knock an elk's *&%^ in the dirt if shot beyond 300 yds. Tempting but not too temping.
