Im a bit curious, after a recent discussion, I was just out hog hunting with a buddy here in florida , on a guys ranch, he was very impressed with how well my 445 dan wesson super mag had put down some hogs.
(the hogs were not huge averaging about 120-150 lbs)but he was using a 30/30 carbine, while I used a revolver and it was very obvious the revolver was hitting them with more authority.
the thing I found rather ODD was he had never even HEARD of a 445 dan wesson super mag,and while Id admit its not a super popular caliber I think it should be, as its darn effective, now ,if you have yet to see or try one, its similar to s stretched 44 mag with a 1.6" long case and generally throws bullets of similar weight 200-300fps faster than a 44 mag.
with a 10" is got similar power to many 454 cassul loads

the load I use is a 300 grain hard cast gas check bullet, with a fed mag pistol primer and 30 grains of H110 which results in near 1480 fps in my 10" barrel revolver, this is a hot but certainly not max load ,at least in this revolver.

Never had one myself but I've seen how it works on whitetails and it is impressive. 20 something years ago my buddy got a Dan Wesson (IIRC) revolver in 445 Super Mag and later got a Super Mag barrel for his T/C Contender. Don't think I had ever heard of it back when he got that revolver but have come to really like that cartridge. Don't recall his handload but it was the proverbial "Hammer Of Thor" on deer even at 50-60 yards. I'm talking one shot kills. Only recall one wounded deer he had to shoot twice cause it moved just as he was squeezing off the first round. He moved to New Mexico 5 years ago and doesn't use it as much now. I'd wager that thing would make a great hog round.

My friend used his to take a deer at 125 yards.

We worked up a load for a softnosed 350 WLN-LBT, and it performed "spectacularly"! Lengthwise penetration, like a hot knife and butter...and the sound of the hit is akin to hitting with a big rifle at long range.

It is very accurate to 200 yards, but its biggest downfall is noise and blast. Recoil in the DW, isn't an issue.

I've shot one a lot, but for deer, it eclipses "silly". For a big hog, it certainly would be a gem.

I'd like some 445 supermag brass - only 20-30 pieces to make snake shot loads for my 44 by necking down the open end a bit

but don't want to buy 100 pc of brass

anyone want to split a brass order ?
