Keeping with the light for caliber/ high velocity theme, has anyone tried the 110 Ttsx in the 308?
Accuracy? Barrel twist rate? Velocity? Terminal performance?
Thanks

I did some velocity checks.
26" Rem 308 Varmint, 1/12.
RL7- 3500+ hit pressure.
W748- 3400+ ran out of room for powder.
Accuracy was sub-moa.
Something like TAC, or H335 would probably be about right for top speeds with the 110gr in a 308 case.

Didn't get a pic of the TTSX target, but they were shooting about the same as the 110gr VMax, at 3450 fps via RL7.

If you zero at 250 yards, not a whole lot of difference out to 500 yards (4500' el). They are both running out of gas after that.

If you check out the Barnes website, they loaded the 110gr TTSX to 3580 fps in a 24" bbl, via AA2230. That would flatten the traj a bit more.

Rem M700 BDL, circa 1975 mfg, 22" barrel 168g TTSX 2685 fps over 47.5g BL-C(2)
Never really checked accuracy but during work-up 47.0g, 47.5g and 48.0g provided a 1.10" 3-shot group.
We've also used this bullet in .30-06s with very acceptable results - deep penetration (non recovered), animals go straight down or take no more than a few steps. Most have just dropped at the shot. Not as much meat loss as with some other bullets.
[Edited to add...]
My bad. Didn't see the "110g" part...

No, I'm not a Ruger bigot - just an unabashed fan of their revolvers, M77's and #1's.
A good .30-06 is a 99% solution.

I shot a decent 1 antler mulie buck with 110tsx 308 winchester, MV around 3500fps. Worked great, distance was 330yards, video taped the shot and could see the bullet fly. Deer did a little dance and fell over. Bullet exited and was never found....
