The last two years, when it gets cold the top of my thumbs get super cold. Just the tops about 1/2 way down the fingernail. Both hands. Senility side effect I think.

naw,I think we are getting old. I wasnt outside for 10 minutes, and my finger was damned painful! I injured it last week, and have a bandaid and some tape on it,and it must have the circulation cut down a little. My thumbs got cold holding down the controls on the snoblower this morning. Think I'll see if you can add heated grips, and yes, I am getting old.

Well, until someone from further north chimes in, I guess we're "winning" at -23 and dropping.
I talked to Dusty just now.
They had a scare on Tuesday as Dusty had a bit of an unexplained spell. This resulted in a stay overnight at the hospital and many tests.
He's back home now but had a busy day with a chemo treatment and more tests.
Please keep him in your thoughts and prayers, I know that everybody's kind support is much appreciated.
We plan to ice fish this weekend and I will be calling Dusty throughout the weekend with the live fishing reports.
Something clever here.

Only 13 below down here right now. Gotta be careful at 20 below, that will slush up your beer.
Good to hear Dusty is back home and doing okay. One of my father-in-laws is battling cancer right. He had a heck of a rough stretch around xmas. In and out of the hospital several times.

Griz, I'm buying a Savage 99-DL from another member here on the Campfire. It's a .308. It has a tang safety which makes it better for a lefty like me. The older lever safety is about the most lefty-unfriendly safety I have used.

Dusty, sorry to hear you had some problems. Hope things are better for you today. Maybe an Ice Castle weekend would help.
ND, best of luck this weekend. Can't wait for the pictures. Gonna do some spearing too?

Did you sell the edge?
If I could sell the red wagon for what I have in it, I would. I'd like another 4runner or and explorer...Used of course.

My thumbs got cold holding down the controls on the snoblower this morning. Think I'll see if you can add heated grips, and yes, I am getting old. I'm a bit spoiled on the snow blower. The dang thing locks the auger "in" when you're in drive and it has heated grips. I figured it would last me until I can't snow blow anymore so I might as well get grip warmers and a head light. If it wasn't such a beast it would be perfect. It was fine for the old driveway but now that dropped down a size it goes pretty quick.

The Edge gets handed down to me and T gets the 2013 Escape. The F150 gets mostly vacation. Too pricey to run that rig to work every day carrying just me.

Thoughts and prayers are always with you Dusty!
-29* on my way in to work this morning. This may be the first season in my memory that we have to use the extension (normally reserved for late ice on LOW) on the ice augers down this way. It's got to be well over 2 feet thick by now. We did get a bunch of snow though so that will insulate the ice some.

I really like the new Escapes. Can you tow with them? All i've seen didn't come set up to tow and they are all 4cyl eco-boost motors. I don't have an issue with the 4cyl but if I can't two a 4-wheeler type trailer, the rig won't do me a lot of good.
Now that I drive the car to work everyday, I find I have less and less need for a truck for everyday use. My plans keep changing in my head because I love trucks but I'm leaning towards an SUV and just use my 1978 f-150, when I need a truck. Which means I need to get crackin on it.
