I did a quick search on here and couldn't really find much on whether or not you can get an elevation turret for a zeiss conquest 3-9x40. Im going to be buying a winchester 70 EW in 300wsm, and im tring to decide between the zeiss conquest 3-9x40 or the vortex viper 3-9x40. So far, the advantage goes to the viper because you can order an elevation turret right from their website. Is their anybody out their who knows if you can get an elevation turret for a zeiss conquest 3-9x40 or has a turret already installed? If you have a turret on yours, How do you like it?

Yes, you can easily get turrets for a 3-9x40 Conquest. Last I checked they were $65 with shipping. I have them on a larger Conquest and they are a nice, albeit simple, design. No zero stop.

As an alternative you can do this. The turret they come with is actually a slick little bastid. It is resettable- you zero, then lift it up, then turn it, then set it back down where you want it. So what I do is reset it such that the markings are all in the "up" direction, then, put a sticker on it calibrated in yards.

Since the scope's tracking is dependent on the erector, not the turret itself, this method puts bullets right where the fancypants turret does. Just a thought. Here's a pic:

Zeiss will install windage and elevation turrets on a Conquest for $80/turret. I have three Conquests with their turrets and really like them. The turrets are relatively low profile and the clicks are positive, repeatable and audible. I've never had one move on me by anything other than me deliberately turning it. I highly recommend them.

Additionally, the 3-9 Conquest is the best in the entire Conquest line. Super bright, great eye relief and large eye box. A highly, highly underrated scope by my reckoning...

I have turrets on a 4-14 conquest and as previously stated they work great. Exact dial in and repeatable zero. What else you need.
Just got 2 new 3-9x40. Mounted one one 25-06 and so far exceptional scope.

I like the Zeiss turrets on my 300WSM, even better after adding a homemade yardage tape for the Deep Curl load I worked up last year.

I used the velocity from the load and JBM Ballistics to determine the clicks of drop.

I laid it out in Autocad by trial and error until the hash marks on the tape aligned with the has marks on the turret when I wrapped it. Then I marked the yardage on the tape in Autocad, re-printed and taped it on the turret.

What kind of tape did you use? I have Autocad. I might try that.

I had their #4 put in. It is everything I had hoped it would be and more.

I'd love to have a #4 in my Conquests.

I've never understood why they made the 3-9x40 so easy to get behind but not the others. I have a 1.8-5.5x38 and a 6.5-20x50 and used to have a 3.5-10x44. They are all really nice but the 3-9x40 is easily the best scope I've used, optically, when all factors are considered.

Throw in how cheap they are and it's a no-brainer! At least when a bulky scope that a bit heavy is ok.
