Known... old guns had a slower twist and Micro grooves. Also known the last issue of .444 guns have Ballard and a quick(er) twist. So then, who has actual knowledge of which would be preferable most probably with 280-310 gr hard cast. However not really 100 % committed to the lead route with 265-300 gr choices readily available. Just fun shooting at odd targets out to 300 yards (cinderblock plinking). Maybe a blackbear while out berry picking.
While it would seem the quick twist would be better, I have read of great results with the old blue guns as loaded.

Everyone says the jm stamped barrels are the best. I got a Ballard, it shoots good.
