i have had a couple and i wish i hadn't sold them. they were very well balanced and shot excellently. mine were in .204.
i have heard that they are not making smith and wesson much money and that they may discontinue them.

only issue is that if you like it, you'll likely be looking for excuses to find more barrels in all sorts of calibers which can get expensive. have had lots of barrels, lots of frames, no real issues. after i got used to the weight of the TC's though, even mid-weight bolt guns feel heavy. have quite a few 'tender barrels that beat MOA accuracy. if you handload, the 30/30Ackely Improved is the bomb-diggity in a trim 6# gun.

I agree, it took a while tocure my barrel bug.
I pack a T/C carbine in 35 Remington with a Chote stock and peep sights around in my Samauri and on my walks around our Ranch.
To my mind it is an incredible level of performance to weight.
I have both G2s and the originals, and both work well.

I cured my carbine barrel fever by putting a fiber-optic sighted, T/C Custom Shop, .375 Win barrel on my G2 - It worked out great.

Don't over look the 7x30 Waters in a carbine barrel with 120 gr. Noslers.

Agree with FyrepowrX: main problem is what barrel to buy and then which barrel to use.... I managed to settle for four: a .22WRM, a .410, a .25-35, and a .32-20. But if I ever find a 28 ga loose....

But if I ever find a 28 ga loose.... i like tinkering with various calibers, and that coupled with a fondness of the gun & the way it handles resulted in a serious barrel-hogging fetish. i have been slowly reducing the number of pistol barrels i have, but the # of carbines is on the increase. always wanted a 22mag, that one is on the "to-do" list....is yours a factory barrel, or a custom? my .375win, topped with a 2-7x Elite = 5#7oz.

I would love a 375 but I have to research it a bit. On the other hand the 5.5 pound weight of that carbine is about perfect in my mind!
