yea, i think so. #2 varies by maker though.

I don't have any good pics like the one Toad posted all mine are from the side only, but IMHO the Classic and a #3 contour go well together. I have a #3 Brux and a #3 Lilja in a Classic Edge and they work great, my favorite combo actually.

What have you decided on Herschel...build specs?

#3 Bartlien(same as #4 most Mfr's)/Classic. Not much stock material left for anything larger.

I think I am going to go with a #5 Brux fluted and chambered for 300WM. This is going to be my heavy rifle.

Sounds like a good fit to a Rem Hunter. That's if you like the Sako design.
