My name is coming up in his book in a few months and I am interested in what Charles May designs are y'all's favorites? As of now I have a Malibu Fire Ant ordered but would like to hear, and see, y'all's thoughts. Thanks.

I like the Slitter for an all-around hunting knife...especially when paired with his B&T II for processing.

I like the Bobwhite for pocket or neck carry.

His Skifa is my favorite knife for doing everything. It's my working knife and gets used very hard. The design/size/handle/blade shape allows you to use it for fine work or to cut big. If I could only have one knife it would be a Skifa with scandi grind.

Very nice Roy! What is the blade length on your BobWhite?

I might mention that I already have a Slitter, a Holt Collier Special, a Refuge, and a Trace. Does anyone here have a Charles May knife that has jigged and bead blasted G-10 scales?

The blade length on that one is 2 3/4". Here's one that I had Charlie make that is real nice too. A Slitter/Buk 95 combo..

Roy...so you had him put a Buk 95 blade on a Slitter handle?
...why am I not surprised!?
It actually is a great looking knife. I like it. Thanks for showing us that. Is the blade length on your BobWhite the standard length? And is the blade length on this hybrid knife the same as the standard Buk 95?

IIRC, the Bob White has the standard length blade. The hybrid May was a Slitter handle and a Buk95 blade and I think that was left as standard length too. Charlie isn't very receptive to changes in his designs unlike Gene Ingram who will do almost anything you desire. You can even send him a drawing of something you have in mind. They are calling themselves "custom" you know........... grin

My vote would be the Slitter for hunting and Fishbone for fishing and kitchen use. Depending on your local you may want to add an inche or two to the blade length on the Fishbone.

With the two of them you can accomplish pretty much any hunting, fishing, and light kitchen work.
