I just left the Keweenaw Bay area in the North Western Upper Peninsula of Michigan. Over three feet of ice on the inland lakes and two to four feet in spots in the bay. The ice goes out for nearly thirty miles on the bay and that was on the 4th of April when I left. I don't foresee it leaving until mid May this year. So, if you're looking for ice.......

Brinky-

I spent a couple summers in U.P. when I was younger. Beautiful country up there. We fished from Little Bay De Noc in Rapid River all the way up through the Paint River and up into the Porcupine Mountains. That's some stunning country up that way. My dad worked pipeline work up there for a couple years. We'd leave in late August to head back home for school for me, and he'd start catching the browns when they'd run into Little Bay De Noc. 'Caught big browns on Johnson Sprite spoons till his arms and back hurt. Great memories!

Ryan, hope you stocked up groceries. Weather Channel is calling for up to 2 feet of snow for the Black Hills.

Hey bill. Happy B-lated Birthday. I didn't check in much this weekend.

Been holed up with a dang old cold and finally feel human again.

We don't need no stinkin snow. It's almost melted out of the yard. One or two more days like we had yesterday and it will be gone.

GG,

Johnson's Silver Minnow is still a great trout spoon. I've caught a few myself out of the "The Big Lake" in Duluth as a kid near the mouths of a few local rivers. Lester, French, Knife and a few seceret creeks that I'll never tell about. grin ... Unitil I take the kids down there. wink

Thx Tom. We're getting light rain over here and the forecast is for rain and snow flurries most of the week. Probably be at least another week before all our snow is gone.

Plan on heading over to Green Bay Friday for the Fleet Farm spring outdoor show at Lambeau field.

Going to be taking the Dell and wireless router in to be checked out today so I'll be off line for a bit.

Happy Belated Birthday Bill!!!!

I Finally got a chance to check in, it has been a while.

Got my diploma in the mail the other day. Now thinking about getting into dog grooming too. smile I guess I will see what happens.

I am so ready for the snow to be gone!!! Our house plans and blue prints are all done. Once we can start on the dirt work it is a go!

I am out of order until further notice. My "stupid people" filter needs cleaning and my "give a damn" batteries have run out.

What the heck? I missed something. You're building a house? Congrats and very cool!

Ok question for you parent type folks. My baby girl had a big birthday, finally into the double digets...and got an Ipod. she can text and call from. (sounds like a phone to me but what do I know? crazy ) Did any of you find it weird to get a text from your kids the first time?

You found a dead deer mowing? How did he get the mower started, let alone be able to cut with it?

I spose not. I have another one that is working his way towards that I guess. He's more interested in hitting the ball over the fence right now. For now at least.

my oldest is 5, so he doesn't text really.

my daughter will tap Morse code on my face with her hand sometimes, it means daddy get up.

we woke up to a winter wonderland this morning, weather channel says 7.3 inches of snow and more is scheduled to come. funny how our biggest snow day came after the first day of spring smile

Let him do it as long as you can. they grow up way too fast. My daughter was in st.cloud saturday for State Free throw contest, ended up 3rd place shooting 22-25. 1st was 23. so she did very well i thought. Trying to talk her into doing AAU basketball now but just talk my head off. kids are great!

Well he says he's going to play for the Twins, so it sounds like he'll be playing for quite a while. If they held a try out for the Twins, that might be a team he could actually make. grin
