Thoughts and prayers go out to the people of OK. My heart is heavy today with thoughts of those poor kids and all the others affected by this tragedy. I cannot even begin to imagine what the parents of those children are going through right now.

Wow Tom! That is a really neat truck. Where did he ever find it?

Tom, when I was a kid, there was a Chevy pick-up, maybe a 35 or a 37 - I don't really know - that was parked more or less abandoned a few miles outside of Ely. I dreamed of owning that thing and getting some paint over the primer and polishing the big brass headlights. Begged my dad to buy it. 15 yrs later or so I bought a '55 F250 and learned that truck restoration is not my gig. I admire the results but fixing them up is not for me. Old rifles became my passion instead. But I sure lust after old pickups like that one.

I bet I know which field. Is it just off off I94 on the south side?

Smart AZZ! grin

There is a field on the south side of 94 between Moorhead and the Downer exit where a guy keeps things that he's selling like old tractors, old trucks, old pickups, old equipment etc.

And yes there is a tree nearby too!

grin

Tom, your dad is doing a great job on that truck. The only Merc trucks I ever saw were in Canada back in the 50's.

Dave, just caught up on this month's posts. I'm so sorry to hear that Uncle Dusty passed away. Best wishes to you and all of Dusty's family. Just want you all to know that you have a lot of extended "family" on this site who care.

Those with kids can appreciate this little story. I brought my 3 kids out with me the other night to plant a few trees at our hunting land. Just as I was getting done, I look up, and here comes the rain. I figure we can all get back to truck just barely....if we hurry....and then.....Hunter says, "Dad, I gotta poop! Real bad!". So there we all sit as the rain pours down on us. About every 1.6 seconds, one of us would wail, "Are you done yet Hunter????". Ahh, that is being a dad, huh?

Sounds pretty normal.

Have you ever had a dog wreck stuff? Yeah, usually shoes or maybe a nice soft seat off an ATV or something similar right?

Ever had a dog destroy a riding lawn mower?

Gus was after a wood chuck inside our storage shed this morning, the chuck was under the deck or possibly under the hood of the mower.

(Gus is a black lab)

Well Gus ripped the hood apart on the mower, heavy molded plastic hood with the air duct for the air cooled engine..

So, the old JD will be retired to deer camp and I'm looking for a replacement mower for home.

We were going to eventually upgrade mowers at home and retire this one to deer camp... but not just yet.

Thanks Gus, A-hole.
