South Dakota deer draw is open! if anyone is interested in hunting SD in the future, buy your preference points now. $10 for nonresidents.

I hope everyone survived the torrential rains without getting wet.

I want to hug the dude whe bought the house from. He had Standard do the drain tile and sump-pump.

So Dave, any updates on the boomstick gifted to a young man? Pics? Reactions?

flip back a page, it's here.

He's a happy boy. He's a bit too cool for a full smile in a picture, but he was happy for sure.

grin

Has it dried out over in the cities, Tom? I see part of a cliff slid into the Mississippi due to saturated soil?

I went for a ride today around Prior Lake. Everyone who had a shed down by the lake now are the owners of some very large bobbers. I saw two sheds floating in the lake. The smaller public access, known as the DeWitt Ramp is close to being unuseable. The dock is unaccessable without wading out to it, and the turnaround lane is all most completely under water. They have had a bad mud slide down at the U of M which is endangering the School of Medicine. Lots of localized flooding and mudslides. There's a small town called Blakely down stream along the river that's pretty much cut off. The only way in and out of town is on a Police dept. ATV.

I see there are few landslides along the road over where 494 meets hwy 7 and 12.
areas of the hillsides about the size of a large house broke away and slide down the bank to the roadway.
that section of road was under construction a few years ago,all the hills are " engineered" ,to have the proper slope and drainage.
must be bad if they are giving out.

I've seen a couple out here too. I think they are more prevalent on wet years. or it could mean someone cut a corner.

we got a decent shot of rain last night. I suppose I'll go turn off the irrigation pump this morning.

We've actually had a pretty nice weekend. More rain predicted for this week though. My yard and sump pump could use a break. A week without rain would work wonders for drainage around here.

My uncle is a farmer in northern MN. I talked to him yesterday and he said he'd really like to start cutting hay, but can't get it because it's so wet. Usually, he has the opposite problem.

We've had a busy weekend here. The Back to the 50's car show is in the MN State Fairgrounds. My dad and his buddy stay with us, and get up and 5am to get in the show. There are over 12K cars there. Nearly impossible to see them all. We set up a tent for shade, have a cooler full of frosty treats, a cooler full of food. The cars are allowed to cruise so we sit and watch them come by us. We'll get up and go for hike's a few times as well for a few hours at a crack. You see from mild to wild and everything in between.

I bought one of these for my 1955 f-100. A Mustang II front suspension, power rack and pinion, power front disc's I'll have to talk to Dave about coatings but it's BIG piece of the puzzle for this truck.

I'm excited about it.

I like your way of thinking TJAY. Deer season just can't come soon enough. I sure am jealous of these guys that get a month or more of gun season when us northern boys get a couple weeks.

Since you're a coatings guy, do I need to powder coat this stuff or will paint be sufficient? The frame is going to have to be sand blasted I'm sure.
