$440.00 is a fair price.I always hear about the $200 to $300 guns but for some reason have never actually seen one.I sold two of my 336A`s for $700.00 a pop and had guys waiting in line.Any pre Remington Marlin is going to get a good buck.

I passed on one locally for $300. It was nice but nothing I had to have.

Try Kittery Trading Post in Kittery Maine...

www.kitterytradingpost.com

Go to used guns and then do a search on 35 Remington..comes right up with 2 Marlins and 3 TCs.

They have two used ones right now...one with a scope for $400 and one that sounds just like what you are looking for for $335.00.

Supposed to be 90% condition with crossboly safety which would probably have the checkered stock. One can get rid of the safety easy enough. They usually charge $25 to ship..

I found a 1956 straight stock SC last year for $350 with an older scope... Fun shooters...Bob

I have one of the rare and elusive $200 rifles. A 1952 336 RC in .35 rem. There is a good reason it was so cheap, it is not blued, it is greened. The finish is the color of green parkerizing mottled with brown but it has a smooth finish as if blued. Not sure how it got this way, probably a refinish gone bad, but it is fugly. I was hesitant to give him the 200, but he mechanicals look OK and I'll try to save it.

I see 336's around here in pawn shops all the time. Most are 30-30 with a 35Rem occasionally. Generally the 35's don't bring a premium but do seem to sell quicker. Most go for $200-300 depending on condition. I can buy average 30-30's all day for $250.

I decent one is bringing $400 to $500 in my neck of the woods, and don't even ask about a 39A.

Well, when I do see one ... they run 350-550 depending on condition.

But then, I don't know that I have ever seen one for 125.00. At least not in the last 20 years or so...
