Some of the pigs won't be difficult to sneak up on and stick. The boar PAMac shot, though, was profoundly offended at being shot with a .300 mag, and if they had been closer things could have been dicey. With an edged weapon you better have a stopper ready for backup.

I will let Troy or Hoghunter4 pack my 416 Rigby with 350gr TTSX's at 2750. Scope comes off easily, with Talley QD's yet returns to zero when re mounted. That rifle and load would stop a Peterbuilt if needs be.

I am REALLY looking forward to this! I ain't the man I used to be, and run out of steam early in the day due to my bad kidneys and pain etc. but for a short while, I am as strong as I ever was.

You going to organize beaters? The lodge doesn't have an elephant, but there's this huge yak that somebody can ride. Maybe Bobby.

I've never been to Wilderness, Scott, but I've been around Monterey a tad. Don't remember anything worth seeing much. I'll look for some cedar, maybe we can whittle.

Only if there is a lodge and encampment of Massai in the niehborhood. Indebele, Shona and others are not so keen on the idea.

They don't have Massai, but they do have a tribe of creek gypsies thereabouts.

63-year-old John Freddrick Alford was hunting hogs with a youth on private property in Rosewood.
CEDAR KEY, Fla. (AP) A Cedar Key man has been killed in a hunting accident.

Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission investigators said 63-year-old John Freddrick Alford was hunting hogs with a youth on private property in Rosewood on Saturday.

At some point during the hunt, the pair separated. The youth saw several hogs crossing a narrow road and allegedly shot one with a 16-gauge shotgun loaded with buckshot. Alford was about 200 feet from the shooter and was hit by buckshot.

He was pronounced dead at a Gainesville hospital.

Wildlife officials are investigating the shooting. No other details were released and authorities did not reveal the youth's age.

A Doe walks out of the woods today and says, that is the last time I'm going to do that for Two Bucks.

And people still discuss the merits of birdshot for defense.

Blaze orange is required this year too.

Also, Wilderness has said they have dogs to hunt the hogs. Dogs and spears should compliment each other.

I, however, will use my rifles.
