My friend has a 1951 Ruger Mark 1 Eagle 22cal that he wants to sell. Serial #19897. Gun has some bluing wear from holster. Bluing wear is around the muzzle and barrel and up in front of the chamber. Any idea what this is worth? No pics at this time. Thanks

Serial denotes NOT in the Mark I ranges. Standard model, per Blue Book:
90% - $350
80% - $265
70% - $235
IMO, fair to good, $250 to $325. Hope for extra magazines. Original "Salt cod" box brings a VERY nice premium. Collectors want 100% with the box! Know the A54 frames are right side magazine bump magagines, and aftermarket/replacement grips are harder to find due to grip screw locations.

I checked the serial # and that's is the right #. He called Ruger and they confirmed it. Less than 30,000 made. Maybe I have the something missing as far as the model?

Mark I's are Target Models with adjustable rear sights. Yours is in the Standard Model serial number ranges. It should be a Standard Model with fixed sights. They are great shooters, excellent kit pistols.
