Any one know what this sells for NIB? Is there a model designation?

I am no expert, so take this with a grain of salt...i suspect this is the synthetic light weight version that was discontinued a couple of years ago..IF that is the case , in 100% condition, it still books for $1050, so it stands to reason , unless it has appriceatted, NIB would have sold formore...either way, judging by the limited description and pic's, its a good buy if one was looking for this rifle... they just dont come up for sale very often, period..bump for a fair price on a relatively scarce offering !

Too bad it's not a 270.

280 beats 270 every day of the week and twice on sundays! I own one so may be a little biased on this one. 7mm has a great selection of bullets.

I had the SS version of this gun about 10 years ago. It was the most accurate factory rifle I ever bought. Like a dumb a-- I sold it. It shot 1/2-3/4 3 shot groups with Hornady 139 light magnum loads. It is a nice light weight gun. I probably killed 15 whitetails with it. Sold it to a friend and it still is shooting great. I bet this gun flat out shoots. It would make a great one gun and done big game rifle. I built up a 280AI so I filled the void, but this would be a great rifle for someone. Goodshot

stangfish, do you have a means of accurately weighing this? I'd like to know the weight of the rifle and scope combined (minus sling).

Yes, I think I can get very close. But the big sky stays with me! If my digital postal scale doesn't get that high I will find one that does.

If you have a fishing scale, that would work. As for the scope, what make and model is it so we can subtract that weight out and add back in the weight of the scope we will use.

I think those run about 6.5-6.75lbs. Very nice to carry . Much lighter than a regular mkV.

Bluebook says 6.5 lb. Great guns, I have one in 270 mag(though the mags are quite a bit heavier); one of my best shooters. Had mine cerakoted, came out nice. If you need a .280,a good choice.
