I have for sale a Remington 592 5mm Remington Magnum Rifle. This is one of only 2 rifles ever chambered for the fantastic 5mm Magnum round, this is the tube fed version.

Its had somewhere around 200 rounds down the barrel, and its in great shape. Few minor handling marks on the stock are about the only thing keeping this rifle from near 100% shape. Stock sights and tube are still in good shape. Trigger and bolt have been polished and are much smoother and lighter than stock.

The 5mm Magnum round is the best compromise between a WMR and HMR, hard hitting like the WMR but flat shooting like the HMR. Ammo cost runs between $15-$20 a box of 50.

Asking $425 in the Youngsville/Raleigh, NC area, and will ship on your dime. For the asking price, I will throw in a few rounds of 5mm ammo to get you started. I also have a scope and rings (Older Simmons) for $25 extra if you are interested.

No trades at this time. *Scope in pictures not included*

Not trying to bust your chops but is there something special about this particular gun that makes it very rare? Remington sold 24,728 of this model before discontinuing it so I would not qualify it as very rare, rare, or uncommon with those types of numbers. I own two of the 592 and two of the 591. I doubt many folks put them in the trash compactor but they did become a very expensive gun to shoot when Remington discontinued manufacture of the 5mm cartridge. I remember seeing a box of original Rem 5mm cartridges going in excess of $100 on Gunbroker and other auction sites. Luckily I had about twenty boxes squirreled away. Now that Centurion began manufacture of the 5mm several of these guns got a breath of new life.

I like the gun and yours seems to be in very good shape but I do ask once again if there is some provenance or unusual feature that makes it "very rare"? If so I may be interested.

OK, guess it is a matter of what one perceives as rare (in my case something there are very few of) vs what another sees as rare. Good luck with the sale as they are nice guns and fairly accurate. I have not shot the Centurion ammo yet, but I imagine it would be as good. At least this got you four bumps to the top!

Yeah I mean, I figure rare as in "dont see many for sale". Even gunbroker only has 5-10 at a time for sale.

Also, compared to a popular rimfire (Marlin 60) at over 11,000,000 units, I figure 24,xxx is pretty rare.

Maybe also rare to find in this shape? The 591 that replaced this one is not as nice...

My Blue Book of gun values says "approx. 27,000 591's" were produced and "approx. 25,000 592's" were produced, all between 1970 and 1974.

I had a 591 and loved it until the ammo dried up. There was a centerfire conversion, but I didn't want to do it so sold it.

Very cool rifle. I've never seen one up close and personal. I like that it's tube fed also! Good luck with your sale!
