You asked what it is worth.. and I told you.your best bet would be to keep it and use it. if you can't face the truth then don't ask. any alterations on a gun makes it a hunter, not a collector.so all the book prices mean nothing. sorry you diden't like my answer.

All you guys setting a high price on an altered gun. are you willing to pay that much for it right now ?, it's a $600.00 gun as is. Hubert, while I appreciate a guy's honest opinion in light of the feedback to this post if it were your rifle would you list it for $600?

If that is heavy rust pitting around the front sight ramp (and elsewhere), Hubert is close with his $600 price. .243 Featherweights are most common. My .30-06 FW (in much nicer condition) cost me $700 from a gun store

Hubert. Why don't you go dump on someone else's thread. If its not worth that much to you, fine. And stop trying to jump to conclusions about me cheating a potential buyer. I actually paid a very stout price for it. Not quite $1000 but I'm sure someone might value it at that. I have a GB account but would rather sell it to someone on here that wants it.
BTW if anyone wants it for $825 shipped. I'll take that for it. $825.00 sounds reasonable. However, I ran across an unaltered one for $850.00 at a recent gunshow. Condition was around 80% though...
I try to stick with the basics, they do so well. Nothing fancy mind you, just plain jane will get it done with style. You want to see an animal drop right now? Shoot him in the ear hole. BSA MAGA

Here's what $700 got me at a gun store: .30-06 FW Lightly used but has been modified with recoil pad.
