is this a rare configuration? or is this common? found one for what i think is a decent price.
on an unrelated note, saw 3 ruger #1's for $1950 apiece (one stainless .45-70, one blued .45-70, and the other caliber/configuration escapes me). what the heck is going on with #1 prices?

Haven't noticed any price increase of that type around here, maybe just someone fishin'....

IIRC, they made @250 of them. I sold mine a while back for @ $700 LNIB. Therwe wa not much demand/interest in it then.

I would pay $700 for a STW I would not pay that much for a #3

1B A young friend here in the valley has one that he picked up for $600 and change a couple of years ago. We free-floated the fore end and improved the trigger pull and it shoots respectably. He is a relatively small guy (about 5'7" or 5'8" and about 130 lbs), so he doesn't hunt with it much. He prefers to hunt with lighter rifles.

I will buy all the factory SS/laminate Ruger No.1's in 7mm STW that you folks will sell me for these prices! Let me know what you have.
