I am still glad I ordered Berger's and if they work well I will order them for some of my other rifles.

They'll work. I've given that bullet a good workout in the past couple years....

I shot two Berger VLDs into Coues whitetails, resulting in two instant kills. As in not one step or twitch. The first was a neck shot that did NOT hit the spine.

The next was interesting. I was actually meat hunting and looking for a shot to test the VLD for an upcoming bull elk hunt. So I waited for a small buck to walk past a juniper tree at 105 yards, then took the 'high shoulder' shot through the buck into the center of a ~7 inch juniper that was about a foot behind him.

Small entrance hole, exit hole slightly bigger than a quarter. There was one quarter-sized entrance hole in the juniper and several smaller holes that where either made by bits of bullet or very motivated pieces of bone. No exit from the juniper ...

This buck was about 120 lbs live weight. I loaded the VLDs for the elk hunt but didn't get to use them. They are used exclusively in this rifle.

Bullets were 7mm x 180s at 3,000 fps. out of a 7WSM.
