Word just came through overnight that PH Erwin Kotze of Thormahlen and Cochran Safaris was trampled and killed yesterday while hunting elephant in Zimbabwe. So far no details on what exactly occurred, but however that sorts out this is just a terrible tragedy. I never had a chance to hunt with Erwin, but spent good times around the campfire with him several years ago while hunting with another PH. He was a smart, energetic and fun-loving young man with a very bright future, now cut far too short. Condolences to all who knew him... he'll be deeply missed.
