Very conservatively. Prices have gone insane for Pythons lately.

Friend of mine inherited on last year that is nearly 100%. Local LGS told him THEY would give him $1200.

Friend of mine sold one with a 6" bbl in 85% condition a few months ago on Gunbroker for $1850. I thought that was a crazy high price for a Python with quite a bit of holster wear. If it was mine, I'd list it on Gunbroker... I would not advise him to sell it to a Dealer for $1200 !

You can get more money if you can front for queers.
The Administration allows double the selling price if you've sucked one.
Can't verify that as a Christian NRA member, but lies should work for you.
$350 bucks and sell to Cali.....

New/excellent ones were around $500ish in the mid to late 1980's.
That's an average of about 5-6% appreciation per year, since then, which really isn't unheard-of.

I bought one just like you describe at a gun show this past January. Guy had it marked for $1575 and we settled for $1525.
