Gonna get it all screwed together over the next few days. Rail will be here tomorrow.

[Linked Image]

It turned out to be quite the BCM build, not intentionally though, they just happened to have most everything in stock at once.

BCM 18" rifle gas barrel
BCM LP gas block and tube and upper receiver parts
Gunfighter CH (medium)
Aero Precision stripped upper

I'll post up some pics when it's done.

I've got a lower waiting on it, should be able to wring it out Monday and I've got two competitions to shoot this month so we'll see how it goes. I may end up shooting it tomorrow without the rail just to see how it feels, I might not be able to help myself.

It's a 1-8", cost $309.

I ordered a 15" Troy Alpha. Clark98ut had me nearly talked into trying the new Noveske rail but I found the Alpha on sale and in stock and I've already got the QD sling mounts and such for it, so... Plus, I was needing something pretty quick for a training day Monday and a match next weekend.

Sounds slick - I need a quality barrel to complete a build. What load/gr bullet?

All I've got to use right now (the only good ammo) is Black Hills 75 grain stuff. I'll also try some Remington 62 grain and Winchester / Federal 55 grain stuff.

I'll let ya know how this one does.

Nice parts! I had an 18" WOA SPR barrel and it was a winner. Should be an easy shooting rig.

I like my 18" SPR, it's as heavy as I want to go and is a shooter with a 3.5-10 MK4 stuck on it. I've thought about changing the JP VTAC tube out for a Troy Alpha to match my others and shave some weight.

Interested in how the BCM shoots and what it weighs all rigged up. Mines a little over 9 lbs ready to roll.

I'm wanting to build an 18 or 20" rig and would like to have a slightly lighter contour than the SPR without going full lightweight. I might have to bite the bullet and pay for another custom contour from BHW.

Noveske 18" light weight, 6 oz lighter than their SPR. I have a 16" and it shoots well, actually had another one and it shot well too.

What do you think of aero precision parts? I followed your link on my thread but I have zero experience with Aero precision and it seems they dont get a lot of press.

I dont mind piecing my builds together a little at a time but would lean towards matching uppers and lowers if I could.

I have an aero stripped Upper and quality seems to be good. I have not built it up yet. But it fits as tight on my Seekins lower as does the seekins upper. Which is as tight as I personally have seen. No play at all.

Well it's together and the whole process was surprisingly simple. A local smith offered to put it together for me for $75...half price...and it took me an hour with a friend who's done it some.

Everything I could find about them was good. Everything went together fine and the upper / lower fit was as good as the last upper. The finish matches everything else as well.

A freaking trained monkey could put an AR together. If anybody around Austin ever wants to put one together, give me a shout. I've got all the tools and enjoy doing it.

I'll try and snap a pic tomorrow. It looks about like an AR with a tube rail, lol.

I took it out today for a test run and put about 100 rounds through it without any problems. I didn't spend a lot of time working on groups and didn't have the gear to do that right anyway, then spent the rest of the time shooting steel.

With the A5 buffer, 18" rifle gas and 1" Battlecomp this rig is smooooooth shooting. The weight of the heavy 18" barrel has a lot to do with that too, I'm sure. I noticed that my follow up shots at 100 yards were significantly faster compared to the 16" mid length (lighter barrel also) upper I was shooting before. Very noticeably faster.
