That is terrible. I have known J. for eight years. Visited with him often at trade shows and TV gigs. Wrote some articles for him when he was at prior jobs.

Always a happy upbeat guy, willing to share with anyone. A good guy who will be missed.

Prayers to his family.

I'm just sick about this. We hunted turkeys together and he was a great guy.

Rest Well, my friend, and God Bless

He was my son-in-laws roomate in college. He was a great guy, a good friend, and a fine gun writer. Sad that he died so young because I believe that in time he would be recognized as one of the best.... Honor him by going to YouTube and Google to see some of his work and some of the tributes from hunters and shooters from around the world.

Does anyone know J Guthrie's cause of death ?

All of the accounts that I have read just say that he died in his sleep , no cause given.

Three reasons that most die in their sleep , 1 . Heart , 2 . Drugs, 3 . Old Age. I wouldn't imagine the 2 or 3 applying to Him

Read the last sentence of the Smith Model 58 article. It now reads like a premonition.

I just read that myself... your right. Sad news, indeed.
