Tim B, I have and really like my two 2.5-8s. I picked them up gently used at less than new 2-7 prices. Like you'd said, my old trash filled eyes cannot see $100 difference in the latest version. I need one or two of them. Jack

Had a Burris 2-7 w/3P4 and loved it, shot SMALL groups at 200 yds with a Sako 260, as around 1" and POI was non issue w/clicks.
The Bushnell plex seems to come between the duplex and heavy in thickness IME and works fine, good glass, strong value.
Leupold - already been said. Everyone's eyes are different and needs. Was not a big fan of the 2.5-8 Zeiss, much preferred a later 3-9x40 Conquest and also a 4x32. Just my eyes and experience.
Any of those work, the Burris w/3P4 is a killer deal w/reticle choice and very hunter friendly/practical IME.

the Leupold VX-2 is the teats ... Yeah, they are great scopes for the price. I wish I had the $$$ to purchase the VX6 model in the power ranges I'm using.

I have 3 of the Nikon Monarch 2-7x32's and 2 of the Leupy VX-II 2-7x33's along with 1 Weaver Classic V 2-7x32. Leupy's win on eye relief, Monarchs on overall optics and Weaver on bang for the buck. That being said I would not hesitate to use a Redfield Revolution or Viper in 2-7. The ones I have looked through seemed to very good scopes.

I have a Monarch and a FFII in 2x7 flavor. Like them both, but the Burris is pretty fuzzy around the edges and I can't seem to get used to twisting the whole ocular bell to adjust power. No complaints on the Nikon.
4 out of 5 Great Lakes prefer Michigan.

New VX1, Mc4 lens coating & clicks. I know the VX2's popular but my eyes can't see $100 difference.
