Excellent post over on RimfireCentral about finishing stocks on older Sheridan rifles...

http://www.rimfirecentral.com/forums/showthread.php

Link doesn't work so go to the Forums, then the Air Rifle Board and look for "Who likes Sheridans"...

My older brother ( RIP ) bought a fancy German Springer at the Gun club over there in the late 60's. Along with several trap and skeet guns.
All were stolen from his shipment home from the AF in... 72?
He shot my old sheridan and went out and bought one.

Now many years later, mine is gone in a divorce. But his is back in my hands after he passed.

I just ordered some .20 lead from Pyramid Air ( 4 for the price of 3 )
And I'll get it out and start pumpin' again.

Doesn't the scope out on the barrel make it difficult to pump?

I never tried a decent scope, but I tink my old eyes are ready for one.

The "scout" style mounting is a lot easier to pump than my Steroid 392, but my Steroid
has the extended billet arm so the extra 3" makes a big difference. I grab just under
the scope with my right hand, and pump with the left, no problems for me.
