It might shoot the same, but it cost more, and it fouls quicker. I'd rather shoot more than clean more.
Oh, and believe it or not, deer bite. Fairly hard.

I returned the savage. What's the point shooting something with a dinged crown, never mind the rough bore.

shoot the savage...bet you get the same, even though the barrel looks rough. It may have. I know mine did, but only for a few shots. Then it started scattering things to the wind. Removing the copper cleared the problem up, but only for a few shots. It didn't take me too many outings to recognize the pattern.

I love my Tikka T3 but it shoots on average 1 to 2 inches. Plenty accurate to kill deer/hogs. I am planning on bedding the rifle and think it will tighten the groups considerably. The rifle being very light is not conducive to tight groups in my opinion. It also seems like I need 2-3 fouling shots and then it will shoot tight for a few shots and then open slightly. This is a 25.06. For the money and lightweight the gun is a great firearm to hunt with. Just hoping to get it to shoot consistently 1 MOA or Sub MOA which it does on and off.
