I have mine on order and while I'm waiting for it I'm picking up a scope and hopefully rings and a mount. I have attempted to contact savage with no response. I'm trying to figure out what model mount I need; anyone have a clue?

all 93s use the same bases. Weaver, Leupold and Warne make them.
(Rings vary by brand)

So this is a model 93....on the same 93 platform?

I don't know the answer, but the Savage rifle in 17 WSM that I've seen pictures of looked more like a modified, shorter/smaller, 110 series action than it did a 93 or Mark II action. Savage did make some single shot 93s in 22 Hornet, but they must not have worked very well, since production appears to have started and stopped almost simultaneously.

I don't understand why there is no information anywhere on this rifle. You would think it would be on Savage's website; annoying. All I want to do is find mounts for the scope and I can't confirm anywhere what model I need.

Good bet that the gun will come with mounts. Wouldn't worry till you get it.

Do you have any idea when the rifle will be delivered? Also, are you having any luck finding ammo?

Im thinking ammo will be the question. When its so hard to get any ammo, why will this new rimfire be any different.

I was told the rifle would be in mid May

When I put my $ down I also asked for them to hold me a case of ammo cause I didn't want to buy a rifle that I couldn't find ammo for. Neither the rifle or any ammo is on the shelves anywhere yet.
Midway has the ammo listed on their website, not in stock yet, for $145 a case. We're I'm buying is selling me a case with the rifle for $138

Good call to work a case of ammo in it as well. I am sure I'll buy one and have a standing "notify me" at Midway when the ammo arrives.

Savage is notorious for missing their projected shipping dates. I am hoping the B.Mag is shipping before my son's birthday in September. He was planning on getting a 17 HMR this spring and I talked him into looking at the 17WMR before he decides.

As a side note, I looked on the computer at Academy and they show the .17 WSM ammo on the computer. It is not in stock or even in the warehouse yet, but the fact that it is in the system tells me they intend to carry the rifle and the ammo.

Old thread but my BMAG will be here Wednesday and I would like to get Talley Lightweight one piece rings for it. Anyone know what Talley 1" ring will fit on this BMAG? Is it the same as the 93? I know the gun is coming with bases but I prefer the talley one piece.

Any info would be appreciated.

Just ordered ammo from midway as it is in stock.

Wish I could help ya Bullseye but I don't have a clue......but I do see some 17 WSM's on GunBroker now. Of course most of them are high but the ammo is stupid high.
Once things settle out some I'm gonna have to get one of these.

I got the gun for less than $300 (MSRP is $349), bought 10 boxes of the 20GR Vmax ammo off of Midway for $14.99 per 50.

Figured out that it does in fact take the same rings as the 93 so I ordered a set of Talley lightweights med height. Now I just need to decide on glass and I may be shooting by the weekend.

My Cooper 17HMR has a 2.5-8x36 VX3 but this one having effective range to 300 yards I would like to have 12X on the top end. However I don't want to bust my budget.... But I am very picky when it comes to glass.

I used the Tally #940793 on mine.
