Was asked to do an emergency hydrographic survey over the weekend, which is cool. It's something out of the ordinary, and the commensurate price schedule for weekend work and all.

But when you show up at the site to get ready and see this:

it kind of sets the tone for the days events.

On a side note, being this close from shutting off the raw water intake to half a county certainly brings out one's inner "Dennis the Menace"

I did note that while I was there, I didn't see a single rattler that the superintendent indicated as the reason for the repellant.

Water moccasins. That was a different story.

Fish? Hell yeah!

Getting fed up with 'em.

I just start throwing them out of the boat after they jump in.

Had to kick a few of em off the bank, because all the eagle's flying around made it hard to get a shot with my survey instrument.

First I saw of them, bro.

Can't say they did or didn't work; because I did see snakes, just not around me directly.

Like these?

I was bush hogging around the lower pond Saturday and these two appeared at my feet when I moved the jon boat to mow around it.
For scale, that my Marlin Mountie that rides on my tractor. grin

The snake repelling pellets I use are made of lead. One use will repel that particular snake permanently. grin

Hard to identify the one on the left, but he looks like one of a dozen species of harmless water snake. The one on the right ain't harmless, I guarantee.....
