I know I tested mine and it came out just a tad over SAAMI spec, something like 2.84". Didn't put the bullet anywhere near the lands, that was just the max the magazine would hold. Decided to stick with 2.8" for length. “The Savage 99 Pocket Reference”. All models and variations of 1895’s, 1899’s and 99’s covered. Also dates, checkering, engraving..
