My brother and I are trying to put an elk hunt together a few years down the road. He is an avid bow hunter and I am a rifle hunter. Do any of you know of a state that will allow him to use his bow during rifle season or me to use my rifle during archery season?
Thanks

Pretty sure your brother can use his bow in rifle season in pretty much any state. Not sure there are any states that you can hunt with a rifle in "archery" season. Might try WY or one of the early season rifle hunts in MT. The seasons are either in the rut or at the tail end. Would up the chances for your brother to connect. Good luck on your hunt.

You can use a bow in most states I think in rifle season.. And that is the only way bow hunting should be allowed.. One season use what you want..

Maybe a "ranching for wildlife" hunt in CO? I'm not sure exactly how those work.

Idaho also allows bows in the general seasons, along with ML's & cross bows.

Hooo Boy. We addressed this topic in a regulation review and I never thought I'd need to try to remember the details.
Colorado has some provision and the language is something like "less restrictive weapon allowed in more restrictive season", but there is more to it than that. For instance I don't think it allows you a several month long archery hunt through all seasons.
Rifle during archery is an absolute no.

You can get a rifle license in CO and then use a bow (or a rifle, shotgun, handgun, muzzle loader or crossbow). See page 12 of the regs.
