I bought some 9.3 bullets today from a guy who had sold his rifle. Among them are some bullets handlabeled 293 gr TUG. They are quite complex in their design; I cannot imagine they were cheap to build.

Anybody have any experience with these?

I have about 200 of these, bought from a guy who sold a 9.3x64B; evidently, this is THE bullet for this round in "Yurp". I have loaded about 25 of them over "Big Game" for one of my Brno ZG-47 rifles, factory 9.3x62s.

I have yet to get the chance to shoot these and hope to go to my club range the day after tomorow to sight and tune several "new" rifles and this is one load I DO want to check out.

I honestly cannot see them being "better" than my go-to 286 NPs at pushing 2500 fps-mv, but, time will tell, as I expect to hunt bears next spring with this pair of ZG-9,3s, using handloads.

I loaded these in my 8mmR/16 gauge that went to Africa with me. They came apart on the hide of a zebra, penetration was only 4 - 5 inches and the remaining rounds were fired into a dead tree and the brass saved. Don't know about the 9.3 version.

I have some factory RWS ammo loaded with these bullets. I took them to Texas and shot a Black Hawaiin ram with them. Realizing that this is a sample one, my impression is might be softer bullet. I also have some component bullets but have not reloaded any yet.

The factory ammo does shoot fantastic in both of my Brennekes.

I found half a box of German 9.3x62 ammo once and the box claims to "Good worldwide on all types of game," I used that ammo to take a couple dear and large boar. Based on the penetration and deformity on the wild boar I don't think I would use it dangerous game, in fact I was planing to use it on Nilgai but used the last two on dear instead.

I am not surprised with the zebra performance and I hope that didn't ruin your hunt and prevent you from taking game.

I will likely section one to see the construction. Mule Deer's practice of testing bullets in media before shooting them at game would also seem well advised.

They do look special and downright purdy. I figured that the price would mean a great bullet? Guess I will stick with my Prvi Partisan 285 gr bulk from Grafs. Other than Prvi my next test would be with Nosler 250 Accubond and some Barnes 250 gr old style Xs I have.

Those are probably RWS TUG bullets in 293 grain weight if they are .366 diameter. RWS calls them UNI Classic now... RWS
