My old outfitter had a Morseth from the late 50's. I've never seen anything that could keep up.....

Love the pic w/ the sky background.

Intrigued by the brand. How are you doing that? Did you make a brand or a running iron?

just bent a piece of wire into shape for the little one. this wire was smaller and stiffer than baler wire. It was one of those flagging markers. My bigger one(hatchet)is stainless welding rod. the rod holds up to lots of 'brandings' without going soft.....

rather than edit, I'll toss pics here. The wire-iron is just a mini-me copy of my registered Colorado livestock brand. The ol' reverse'D', connected'W', connected reverse '7'.....or backwards DW bar connected.

Kinda fond on Harvey Kings blades, particularly the Classic Hunter, Small Game, and #8 styles.

But the throw-aways from Cold Steel, Canadian Belt and Pendleton, work OK for a deer or two between sharpening.
