Almost forgot this one!!!! Those might very well be great knives, but I cringe anytime I see "BG" stamped on anything!!

I oogled the various Gator's for many years but never bought one. When someone posted that Cabela's was selling the B&C S30V below for 39.00 a year or so back I bought one. I skinned and quartered a doe this year and it performed great, the sheath sucks.

Mike I have the same brass lock blade. Girlfriend gave it to me in college. I'll never forget her because of it. Funny how knives conjure memories...

Finally found a flayer to complete my set. :-) Sure in nice shape compared to my old Gerbers, just love the steel on them. I have a flayer, and one that is similar to the shorty, but it has a different name and can't think of the name off the top. I traded a custom built knife straight across for it...because I know how good they are. My set in the pic...[that is a shorty in the pic] my other one isn't in the pic.

I think that set had different alloys for the blades. fairly sure they used m2 in one or more of the small pattern. anyway I tried to sharpen on a carborundum & it just cut the stone. no diamonds at that time. cranky72
