shot a 250# pig last night with my 24" .375JDJ ; range about 50 yards, hog was quartering towards me, hit right on the point of the shoulder, went through him lengthwise, skipped off the spine & it came to rest under the skin of the offside back leg...232.4grains retained weight. bullet performed well....

What was the initial velocity?

That Chatfield/Taylor is an awesome round. I'd like to rebarrel one of my rifles to that one of these days. Then maybe I will have a good use for all this 338 win mag brass I have grin

The CT really was a good round in the days when the original short mags were created to fit into a M98, but in reality it does not offer much over the 375H&H and 375Ruger other than being something a little different. Brass is easier to get for it, that is true.

I do like mine. It has been a lucky rifle for me with three moose and a B&C mountain caribou to it's credit.

Starting velocity? Expanded diameter??

X-VERMINATOR

Sooner or later our heritage of hunting is going to be a rich mans sport and the words "Outfitter" and "Hunt Industry" will be synonymous with cancer and A.I.D.S. among blue collar hunters like me and my family! (A.L. Williams - 2010)
