David had a special piece of splalted maple that had lots of character and lighter color changes in it, and these scales were some that were made from it. Every day on this side of the ground is a win.

And I really like that thick looking shiny finish that he puts on em'. The lines on his skinners are really pleasing to my eye...! Every day on this side of the ground is a win.

I must say though, the two you posted above are beauties also. That red handled skinner has me ready to pick up the phone to give David a call. That one is just amazing.
