When I ordered it through Mike Bryant, I specified 80% dark red, 20% black. After discussing it with Rick Bin and looking at the color chart, I think McMillan used Burgandy where I requested a dark red, since they technically don't have a "dark red." In any case, I was extremely pleased with how it came out. This one is SharpShooter's Nesika 6.5-06 put together by Charley Robertson of Score High Gunsmithing out of Albuquerque. Charley does extremely good work. I once shot a group with this rifle that measured .137" with 129gr Hornady Interlocks. Anyway, back to the colors. SS said it's a 50/50 red/black. This is the scheme I'm going with on my next project. That's the stock where the front action screw bushing kept sinking in and I had to repair it. Only glitch I've ever had with a McMillan stock but it's fixed now.

The stock in Doeslayer's post is "60% Burgundy, 20% Dark Grey and 20% White" and yours doesn't look as "purple" to me. Yours looks darker. Yours, I like very much BTW and may order one myself. Who is the guy from McMillan that post here, maybe he could help us. Using Barnes bullets before they were cool.

I have plans to let me build a custom rifle and I'm always interested in functional and good looking synthetic stocks. You just specify the color mix you want. I'm only on my second McSwirly, but am acquainted with several. McMillan does a great job of getting you what you ask for - just be sure you ask for what you want. I absolutely love mine, both of which are in this thread. But to a guy who's not in the loop, it could be construed that way.
