I had one with nickel finish and 6 1/2 inch barrel in .38 Spl. during my Cowboy Phase. It was well made and accurate and functioned perfectly. Shot point of aim and was a very pretty revolver.

Hey Wild, Thanks for those good words. I just sent my check to get one, unfired, in .38 with a 5" barrel. Now I'm even more anxious to get it. Years ago Rex Applegate had an original #3 in .38 Special that had belonged to his uncle, Gus Peret. I got to shoot that gun on more than one occasion and I've wanted a #3 in .38 ever since. Now maybe my little dream can come true. Currently Taylor's offers the #3 but only in .45 Colt and I wish they'd offer it in .44 Russian or Special plus .44/40. The .45 might be more popular today with the Cowboys but that is not an authentic chambering for the #3 and I'd prefer it to be "hysterically correct." Shoot sharp, Mike

Just to add a conclusion, I got my Laramie yesterday and while I have not fired it yet, I'm very pleased. It's a very well made gun. Shoot sharp, Mike

And, to continue, now my Laramie has certainly been fired. I wish the trigger pull was a pound or more lighter, perhaps a new trigger spring can be made. And the rear sight needed a slight adjustment but that was easy to do, moving the windage a touch to the right. Also, my first loads in this .38 Special used 2.5 grains of Bullseye and they shot high. Going up to 3.0 grains of Bullseye under the 157 grain bullets, from Badman Bullets, brought the group down nicely. This is a very accurate revolver. Shoot sharp, Mike
